Stichting Wakker Dier
On World Animal Day 2025, Wakker Dier, together with various allies, organized the Dierendag Demonstration in Amsterdam. The action drew attention to the ongoing political promises regarding the welfare of farm animals — promises that have remained unfulfilled for over twenty years. Despite commitments to adapt farming systems to the animals rather than the other way around, painful procedures such as tail docking, dehorning, and toe amputation are still common practice.
The demonstration called for real change in a striking, positive, yet defiant tone. The visual style — in bold pink and yellow — symbolized both hope and urgency. Supporters could order (window) posters, stickers, flyers, and other promotional materials, resulting in a vivid pink-and-yellow wave of demonstrators across the city.
Developed together with Karin Heinen, Nienke Kersten, Bas Veldhuis, and Stichting Wakker Dier.
